Paper 1 and 4 reminders

Hi guys,
Please remember to bring (on top of the usual stuff) for Bio paper 1 and 4.
1. Entry proof and IC
2. Sharp pencil/mechanical pencil
3. Ruler and curve ruler
4. Calculator

Don't forget to watch your time. Ideally, you should spend a very maximum of 40 min on the structured questions (but that's stretching it very thin also), and the rest of the time on your essays. Spread your time equally across the 2 essays, and do read through all three essay questions before deciding on which 2 essays to do.

Other things to remember for paper 4:
1. Use DATA provided in the graph/table/results in your answer.
2. For workings and answers requiring data, don't forget to write the UNITS as well. Show STEP-BY-STEP workings no matter what.
3. If you are short of time for the essays, sometimes, TABLES and FLOWCHARTS will suffice, especially if the question is only asking you to "state" or "list" the points.
4. You may want to put DIFFERENCES into a table. But remember when you state the differences, they must be comparable points.
5. Remember that certain things like osmosis, diffusion, wilting, cardiac cycle have a LOGICAL sequence to it. Don't jumble up the points.
6. Read the questions very carefully. Don't think too much and get yourself very confused. If you get stuck at one question, move on and come back to the question later.
7. If you have time to CHECK your paper, check each question very thoroughly, and even re-read the information given in the question, to see if you have missed out any crucial points. Never ever leave any part blank, if you are not sure how to do a particular part, at least just write down some intelligent guess!

Things to remember for Paper 1 (I know I nag, but just a reminder):

1. Don't leave shading the OAS to the last 15 minutes. Its best to shade the answers as you go along.
2. Don't start from Question 40 and work your way backwards, in case you shade the wrong options in the OAS along the way.
3. If you are stuck at a question, move on and come back to it later, but ensure you do leave the OAS blank for that particular question.
4. Watch your time, 1 min per MCQ, 20 min for questions where you got stuck or are not sure and of course, for checking.
5. Double and triple-check: That you have the correct answers shaded, that you read the questions correctly, that you chose the BEST possible option, not the first option that seems correct.
6. You can highlight main points as you go along to help in your thinking process, as the question paper will not be submitted.
7. Note words in bold/underlined. Those will be very important words!

Finally all the best for the prelims!
Good luck guys.
