Dear gentleman,
I trust that you are prepared for the practical exam tmr,
Follow the prelim shift timings, if ur not sure, check admin breeze.
Shift 1: report at 730
Shift 2: report at 915
Shift 3: report at 1115
Things to note for tmr:
1. Check that you have been given the correct question paper and the number of printed pages.
2. Scan through the entire paper quickly to decide which question you would like to start off with.
3. Read through an entire question (either question 1 or 2) at least once before starting the practical, such that you are aware of the context of the whole question. This will allow you to understand the design of the experiment and you will be in a better frame of mind to anticipate the likely observations, deductions and draw links to the answers to the sub-questions.
4. If there is wait-time required for one question, start on this question first and spend the ‘required waiting time’ working on the remaining sub-questions or the other question.
5. Write your answers in INK, anything written in pencil will NOT be marked by the examiners, except drawing(s) of specimen(s) and table or label lines.
6. Manage your time well, 1.5hrs for both sciences.
Do revise prelim practical, past O level practicals, food test guidelines and all the other revision guidelines that i gave you guys. Remember how to write magnification. Take note of all the indicators (colour changes) and solutions used to absorb substances.
Important theory topics to study include:
Cells
Diffusion, Osmosis
Enzymes
Digestion (plus Food test procedures)
Respiration (Esp Experiments)
Nutrition in plants (Esp Experiments)
Transport in plants (Esp Experiments)
Reproduction in Plants (Drawings of fruits)
Genetics
Lastly, go into the lab with a calm mind. Slow and steady. All the best guys, you can do it!
