Miss Menon,
What are the key things to note when they ask you to explain the shape of the graph?
Any key points and words I should include in?Please help!

Dear gentleman,
Pls leave your name and class next time you leave a msg. Next GEP sessions will be on plants.
For graphs,
First of all you have find the trend of the graph. If there is no continuous trend, then you have to dissect the graph into sections.
For eg, for the CT3 graph, the graph is dissected into 4 parts. Increasing phase, gradual decrease, drastic decrease and finally the last section.
After identifying the phases, using data and units describe how the independent variable affects the dependent variable.
For Eg, When time proceeds from 6-11am, the stomatal pore opening increases from from 0.3 to 2.1 units. Hence make sure you use the data given. Detailed explanation is required only if they ask to EXPLAIN the trend.
If the question asks to DESCRIBE, a brief explanation is suffice. Hope this helps.
Regards, Ms Menon
